About this programme:

In January 2006, new EU HACCP Legislation was introduced into the UK and necessitated a revision of UK food training. The old Basic Food Hygiene course was ‘married’ with the new HACCP regulations, and re- christened Food Safety Training Level 2 for Manufacturing. At the same time, similar courses for catering and retail were introduced.

Understanding the importance of external verification, we have worked to achieve the first full on-line accredited course in partnership with the UK awarding body EDI.

The course is divided into 5 lessons:

  • The importance of food safety.
  • Personal hygiene.
  • Safe cleaning and use of chemicals.
  • Food safety hazards.
  • Temperature control and safe food storage.

By its very nature, a level 2 course is complex and has a comprehensive learning content.We therefore will allow users to ‘dip’ in and out of the learning content until they are thoroughly happy that they have understood the learning.
